i find the number coding scheme a headache. it is hard to maintain one car thus many families have to 2 cars in the garage in order to travel from one place to the other. Somehow, this adds up to traffic jam on the street. If the LRT and the MRTs are interconnect, then people are encouraged to take them.

While it does not cut down traffic by 20% (one weekday-off per car) because some people have 2 or more cars, there is obviously a reduced number of cars since most families either have no car or have only 1.

Even a 15% reduction in vehicles on the road surely helps reduce the chaotic condition of Philippine road traffic.

It is a very solid plan intended to solve traffic congestion in Metro Manila. HOWEVER, it probably lacks some teeth in actual implementation as there will always be those who are uncooperative and there's really not enough traffic enforcement officers.

The number coding helps regulate the traffic flow and I agree 100% of its implementation. One can observe the heavy tarffic which is very frustrating everytime the number coding is suspended. The system also provides a "window-time" from 9AM to 3PM to do your business, with the exeception of 3 cities (Makati ,San Juan and Mandaluyong) where this implemented from 7AM to 7PM.

It's not useless. It's a way to deal with traffic congestion and air pollution by forcing people out of their cars. The obvious loophole is for a family to own two cars. It's just a stupid government program. The US is going down the same tube.
