No, it is not. The box says one per day and you should follow those guidelines. As you are not even using them for birth control that is also another reason to be careful. Being on birth control pills changes the hormone levels in your body, which is why taking 2 can be harmful. When i first began taking the oral pill, i didnt get another period for 2 whole years and i only took them for 2 months. Thats just an example of the need to be careful with these pills.

You should only take one tablet per day, any more than that will increase your risk of heart attack or stroke along with a higher predisposition to cancer due the the influx of hormones. Taking two birth control tablets should only be done if once in a while you forget to take one the day before. If this happens, taking two tablets the following day will get you right back on track. If you miss two days of doses however, then you have to start the cycle all over again. Your acne might actually get better with a higher dose of hormones but at a severe risk to your entire body from your brain to to your heart to your uterus. Stick to one tablet and get some prescription skin creams such as Benzaclin or Differin if you need help with acne. There are Minocycline capsules that help with acne as well. Talk with your dermatologist about these medications and see if that works. Hope this helps, stay healthy.

Taking two a day consistently is not a good idea. I do not believe that it will help you with your acne that much to be worth it. When you take the pill your body does not have to produce the same amount of estrogen and progesterone that is normally does. When you take excessive amounts of hormones your body does not have to produce the hormones at all so your body forgets how to do it. After you stop taking the pill your body will go through withdrawals and you will be sick. Your body may never return to normal and you could become sterile. This of course would only happen after a long period of incorrect use. Please do not do anything with your medication until your doctor approves it. Good luck!

The question is why do you want to take two a day? Do you think it will help MORE with your acne? It won't. Now if you miss a day, you can take two the next, but definately don't do it all the time. BC is serious medication. It's synthetic hormones and you have to remember that hormones are your bodies form of communication. If you go messing too much with it, suddenly your body will be speaking a different language to itself and all kinds of miscommunications can insue.

More is not always necessarily better. It is well advised to only take the medication as prescribed by your doctor. Birth control pills has many side effects and is potentially harmful to your health. Although acne is not a pleasant condition, it is certainly much better to cope with acne than with cancer.

This should be a question for your doctor. If it's not working, tell her or him, they might have some other idea, or figure out whether it's ok to increase the dose. It's a really bad idea to experiment with the dose, yourself, it can really mess up your period and stuff. One of our friends had bleeding that lasted months before the doctor adjusted her prescription.

You should only take one a day. Taking 2 a day can up your risk of adverse reactions, and won't help your acne clear up faster. Never take a prescription medication differently from how your doctor tells you to.

Its ok ONLY IF you forgot a pill the day before, or if your doctor says to do so.

DO NOT take it against what the directions say on the prescription unless your doctor gives the ok.

You will have to ask your doctor. When my daughter would take 2 pills in one day because she forgot to take one the day before she would get migraines and sick to her stomach. You could call the doc without having to make a trip to the office.

No, only if you miss a dose. You don't want to mess with your hormones. You could make things worse. As far as your skin goes, I take 500mg of Lysine a day and have had significant fewer breakouts. (It took about 3 weeks to start seeing results.)
