Yes, some of them are legit. You can go all the way to a PhD at some of them - but make sure they are accredited! Or else they aren't legit.

In America, you get a degree in steps, the longer you go to school, you'll be able to get more degrees... but it costs more and more. They are all called college degrees, starting with the first you can get. 1. 4-6 years of college: Bachelors Degree 2. 5-8 years or college: Masters Degree 3. 7-10 years of college: Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) When you get a Doctorate degree, you are officially called Doctor, and you usually have to take an oath. The years I gave you here are all very general. It depends on how quick you finish your classes, and hopefully if you don't flunk any. It just looks like you have a Bachelors Degree with some very brief Masters level education.

I agree very much with comfort_eagle. Don't go to an online college - go to an established university which also offers online degrees. You can get degrees called a Ph.D. at an online college, but they have absolutely NO credibility. Many of them are taught by faculty who don't even have Ph.Ds themselves! And don't accept the idea that "accreditation" means that they are credible. Most of them will say that they are accredited. What they won't tell you is that they bought their "accreditation" from an organization which exists only for that purpose - not the same ones that the other universities get their accreditation from. One of the major ones says that they have applied for accreditation with one of the major accreditors, which doesn't mean anything - anyone can APPLY for accreditation.

Online colleges without an established, related brick and mortar presence are basically a joke. You can get almost any degree imaginable from an online school, but employers don't take most of them seriously at all.
