What does a goth person dress like and act like?

Do they always dress in all black? Do the female goths tend to dye there hair red? Do they worship Satan?

I'm doing a paper on subcultures and would like some info on them please. I am not one to judge others, they do what they want as long as they don't hurt anyone is what I believe.

Being goth has nothing to do with what clothes you wear or music you listen to, it is a way of thinking and seeing the world. The clothes that goths wear and the music that goths listen to is just a reflection of that mindset. Goths see that there is extreme pain and evil in the world, along with the good. Instead of condemning it or ignoring it, goths accept these things as a part of life and try and enjoy the good along with the bad, since they can't stop the bad from happening. They are not obsessed with death, they just accept it as an inevitability. They do not try and cause more pain in their (or anybody else's) lives, since there is plenty to start with. Goths tend to be kind, intelligent, non-violent, emotional, and artistic.

You know there's lots of stereotypes out there and i think for once people need a real answer to this kind of question the answer is because there expressing who they are they want to fit in you know we live in a society bound by you must do this and that how about a little more freedom to express yourself

im not goth by no means but i like to act crazy people are suprised i suppose when they get to know who i am looks can be decieving i suppose average looking student with dragon tshirt loves ac/dc and videogames and has a passion for Yahoo answers go figure.

Never judge a book by its cover I dare anyone here to go up to a person you would never normally approach and start a convo with them let them open up and you might be quite supprised.
