I tried on skinny jeans and it seemed to make my hips look a little bigger. Is bigger hips even a sexier thing, because when I told a sales associate she said so. I really like skinny jeans but...i don't know.

Well it depends on your build. When you say you are curvy, do you mean you are plus sized or just someone with wide hips? You could also just mean you have a shapely build that is slim or be very voluptuous, possibly bigger than average. I am not really sure what your build is but I will try to help you out. Skinny jeans really look better on people who have a particular shape. It is certainly not for everyone. This means it will not look good on certain people.

On the bright side of things, curves are definitely in dont let anyone fool you but that doesnot mean every trend will suit a curvier person--realistically it wont always work and depending on the color and how wide your hips are you could wear skinny jeans even being a full-figured person. The thing is if you feel the skinny jeans made your hips seem bigger chances are it may not be a good thing this depends on your figure. I am guessing that if you are smaller up top significantly compareed to your bottom half, skinny jeans may not suit you best. If you are equal on both sides it may work with the right top!

The reason has nothing to do with being curvy or not curvy, your shape may not be flattered by wearing a very form-fitting jean. Really skinny jeans will look best on someone who has proportionate hips to their shoulders, likewise their thighs and calves should be around the same width regardless of how thin or thick a person is. If it is drastically different, skinny jeans are not for you.

To look slimmer, get jeans that are not too tight and are a darker shade of blue as opposed to lighter jeans because it will make you look slimmer if you wear a darker jean. Also, if you have a mid section you would rather conceal try wearing tops that fall below your waistline and towards the hip. There are tons of frilly peasant tops and button-downs that have that look to them these days...all in all I would say you can be curvy and wear current trends but you have to be careful that the clothing is not too tight or it will make you look bigger. Many people wear there jeans too tight especially young people be careful about that.

You could perhaps try one size bigger to see if you still had the problem but keep in mind the shoulder to hip ratio as well as your waist to hip ratio and thigh and calf proportions. If they are no where near close chances are skinny jeans may not suit your build. Measure yourself to be sure.

Generally I am a curvy woman and don't not perfer skinny jeans, they make ur curve's look more fat then curvy. Flare jeans really bring out the curve's in the right way. but if u like skinny jeans don't let anybody tell u not to wear them. Everyone has there own unique style. most tall woman that have curves could pull it off but i am short so i cant lol. And to one of the other comments thats not y they call them skinny jeans. they call them skinny jeans cause they have a tight fit to ur legs. Not cause there made for skinny ppl.

I dont think skinny jeans are made for only skinny people, I think they looks awesome for the curvy ladies, and when I say curvy, I mean curvy not Obese claiming they are curvy, but YES, whoever say skinny jeans are made for only skinny people really dont know what they are talking about, again these are probable the same people that gain a little weight in their butt and go "omg, do you think my butt is too big." Those girls really bothers me.

Anyhow, here is a site to some cool skinny jeans and best of all, it is under 100!

Skinny jeans were generally made for skinny people. But if you feel you can pull it off, and look good in it, go for it. Not to hurt your feelings or anything, but the sales person might of said that just so she could get a sale. Why don't you ask friends, or siblings. They will give you an honest answer on if they think it looks good on you.

i am short and curvy and can't stand skinny jeans. i don't need to accentuate my already large 42" hips. it makes me depressed to find jeans to fit them, and then to try on skinny jeans that make my hips look even bigger. not a good look at all.

i feel way more sexy in a nice dark wash pair of trouser style jeans with slight flare at the bottom or straight cut. makes me feel taller and thinner. which is definately a good thing.

No it isn't that you don't want to show your curves, because curves are a good thing, but skinny jeans just don't look balanced. If you like snug fitting jeans a boot cut style with a bit of stretch will be more flattering.

Two word. N.O. Skinny jeans were NOT made for 'curvy' people. They were meant for skinny people who are less than a size 5. Sure they come in bigger sizes but they are in no way flattering. That sound mean but what these people are saying is just wrong; just because you like them does NOT mean you can pull them off...Skinnies cling tight to the body and if you even have a little bit of flub then they're just going to accentuate that and that is NOT what you want. I would recommend boot cut or wide legged jeans but not skinnies. Sorry. It's the truth though.

Better luck next time

They make them for curvier girls but it's a matter of personal taste. Not all women were designed straight (hips, waist, etc.). In fact, most women were designed with curves - this is the norm.

The thing with skinny jeans is that they were designed to cling to every part of the body that they cover. It doesn't mean that you have to have a straight body nor that you can't have a feminine figure.

I think that it depends on the brand. Some skinny jeans have room for curves but some seem to be for people without them.

i personally think they look horrible on curvy women, not that curvy women arent beautiful. they kind of give the illusion of curves for us boyish looking women. i have very little curves so i love wearing skinny jeans to make it look like i have a little. i think curvy women look nice in flare or boot cut jeans, they balance out the bottom portion.
