I heard from someone that kwanzaa was a racist holiday and that it was started by a rapist. So I did some research and it seemed to cooberate this. Then it got me wondering why do people celebrate a racist holiday and why does the media accept a racist holiday?

kwanzaa is a phony holiday created in the 1960s by a known criminal, the american ron everett, who later changed his name to ron karenga. karenga was convicted of torturing two women and his gang, "united slaves" killed multiple people. kwanzaa was created only to oppose christmas and there is nothing about it that is not fraudulent. the name kwanzaa is fake, karenga came up with it because he presumed that no one would celebrate it if they knew it was american. he also put chose to put kwanzaa around christmastime so that people would remember it. the principles of kwanzaa are "think black, talk black, act black, create black, buy black, vote black, and live black", with the candles each representing one of these "principles of blackness". kwanzaa also inspired the terrorist symbionese liberation army.

Talking about beatting a dead horse with a stick!
Anytime there is anything involving afrocan americans it becomes a big issue. If kwanzaa was invented by a WHITE man it wouldn't be a big deal. Kwanzaa is not meant to be a holiday or something to replace chirstmas or a "Oh those poor black people don't have a holiday so here you go" type of thing. It was meant to be something different from the materialistic and capitalistic europan based holiday(s) and help think about better things besides buying presents all the time. If you hate kwanzaa so much then make up your own holiday

Its a holiday that black people celebrate so they dont feel pressured by the whiteman's christmas . I celebrate christmas and my stupid 3rd grade teacher though I celebrate kwanzaa because I was the only black person in my class. Therefore Kwanzaa is a racist holiday

Although Kwanzaa itself is not a racits festival, the founder of Kwanzaa is a Pan-Africanist who did indeed start the festival to take the 'whiteness' out of Christmas. The founder Roy Karenga quoted 'In Karenga's words "The Christian is our worse enemy. Quiet as it's kept, it was a Christian who enslaved us. Quiet as it's kept it's a Christian who burns us. Quiet as it's kept it's a Christian who beats us down on the street; and quiet as it's kept when the thing goes down it'll be a Christian that's shooting us down. You have to face the fact that if the Christian is doing all this there must be something wrong with Christanity."He later stated, "...it was chosen to give a Black alternative to the existing holiday and give Blacks an opportunity to celebrate themselves and history, rather than simply imitate the practice of the dominant society.

Short answer. Yes. Ron Everett was a militant racist who tortured two women and was sent to jail over it. Most blacks in America are smart enough to realize what happened and avoid this celebration. Sadly many of an older generation try to cling to this hate mongers beliefs out of a sense of embarrassment. I'm sure my stalker will be along soon to tell you the opposite but as usual won't be able to provide any proof other than the official propaganda site.

It's creator is not only a felon but someone who wants blacks and whites separated he is also a communist. All of these documented facts can be found with an easy search.

Ultimately if you take the 7 principles they are things that people with common sense and a sense of ethics celebrate daily. The only African connection to Kwanzaa is the names used for the seven days.

It is only racist when it is celebrated in a racist way today. The founder was clearly not a great man but maybe, despite all his personal flaws, the holiday can become a global celebration of love and unity. If the people who celebrate it today can celebrate it for the potential good that it can be rather than holding to old ways of thought, it could be a way that ALL people can celebrate African culture.

Many holidays we celebrate today are nothing like their origins when the holidays were invented. If only pure Irish people celebrated St. Patrick's day, it wouldn't be much of a holiday. And many Christian holidays were pagan holidays which were "redeemed" by the church leaders at that time.

At this point I'd say the jury's still out on Kwanzaa - my initial impression of the holiday was pretty dismal but I've encountered people who really would like to see the holiday become what is has the potential to be. I have friends who celebrate it that had no idea what kind of man Dr. Karenga was, but who themselves are certainly not racist. Maybe forgetting or forgiving the past is part of moving forward. It has worked for many other holidays. It doesn't have to be racist at all; I'm encouraged.

No Kwanzza is not racist. The people that say it's a racist holiday are the actual racist. If you did some research on Kwanzza you would find out the truth. The guy that invented/created/made up/ (whatever you want to call) this celebration was an Imperial Supreme guy who wanted to separate the Wizzards from the Non-wizzards. There are so many people that stalk this celebration that the media accepts this as a racist holiday. It's not the people that celebrate Kwanzza that's racist, it's the ones that keep track of it.

Kwanzaa is a joke and I think people shouldn't adopt it as a religion. In fact, from what I read about the celebration is that it is seems tobe a combination of christiantiy and Judaism into one so-called religion. Also the person who started this (Ron Everett) and those who celebrate it did so in order to bring some sort of unity or (history) to African Americans.
