What's up w/ this whole thumb up / thumb down business? What's the point - What do you rate?

The only time it makes ANY real difference is if you receive best answer. If you do, the TU's are added to your total (up to 50). A BA with 12 TU's would net you 22 points.

Otherwise, it's just a simple way for folks to voice their opinions... or the way some folks have of being anonymous jerks.
