Stupidity.
Because when thats out of the way, people will stop being ignorant and educate themselves with FACTS about things and start making an effort to correct the problems with solutions that were thought up and put into effect using common sense.

Easy global warming. In order to "stop" global warming society is basically going to have to declare a war on pollution. The "war on pollution" will require sweeping societal and economic changes in order to preserve the real estate that we value so highly. Global warming will stand the test of time as the real transition point from the 20th to the 21ist century.

Global Warming, the war will end in a matter of years and obesity is a choice thats bad but won't result in the fall of civilization like global warming will in less than a century. Go Al Gore for his Nobel Prize!
