she needs a doctor, but until then she can take AZO standard, it's otc so you can get it at most any place. Also have her drink cranberry juice or buy some cranberry concentrate pills....but do make her go see a doctor or it won't get any better.

She should go to the doctor. The meds they usually give a person with a UTI are Cipro and sulfa drugs. Unless she was prescribed the meds she shouldn't be taking them. If she doesn't get some sort of treatment it could lead to a kidney infection which can be very serious. Ib proffin or motrin should work for the pain.

if she saw a doctor and he cultured the urine, then prescribed the amoxicillin, it will work, because the test showed that the organism causing the infection was sensitive to that antibiotic. If she is just taking some she had left over, it's a bad idea, because the organism might not be sensitive to it, and then she could create a resistant organsim. She should only take what a doctor prescribes.

she needs Cipro, not amoxicillian. The latter is not a strong enough antibiotic!!

Talk to your doctor, so get the prescription!

don't forget if she is on the pill, they will be ineffective for this month due to the antibiotics!
