Do you care what other people think of you?

Question

Do you care and are you concerned with what other people might think of you? (strangers or people you know)

or do you have the attitude of..."ehh..whatever. i couldn't care less?"

i care,but not to the extent that i obsess about it,i float my own boat,if you don t like it theres the door.....

part of me does but if I start to worry about it I catch myself and I am able to stop caring at all. Of course I enjoy being liked and I want to be helpful. I prefer being liked but this will not always be the case. I know how to say to myself hey who cares and it makes me feel better. Sometimes on here I may have asked a question that is kind of humiliating and something inside of me will say hey now everyone knows your personal thought and then I catch myself and I say who cares . one thing that helps is realizing that the world does not revolve around me.When people see me they don't care that much.They are concerned with themselves. But I don't have to think about all that.I have a simple mind .I guess it came with age. When we are younger we tend to care more.Even the rebels care they want to express themselves as rebels. I care about what God thinks of me. I seek the honor that God gives not peoples approval. I do like to treat others with respect and I do care if I hurt someone.

I don;t care what strangers think about me. Heck I don't even care what most of my friends think about me.

I do sometimes care when it comes to certain people who are very important in my life. But I try not to as well, cause it hurts when you finds out that the person you love sees you in a negative way.

Yes, I care, I was tortured as a kid, made fun of for being ugly, or having a mostache (i take after my dad, who has LOTS of facial hair), kids are reall mean.

So now im 16, and are SO self concious about the way I look, and whenever somebody around me whispers, I feel they are talking about me, even tho they probably aren't

I have very low self esteem, and I can't help it, so yes, I obsess over what people think of me

I also don't understand why people thumbs down on these kind of questions...this is a persons opinion, and thumbing down is just like saying your opinion is wrong.....ok, getting off the soapbox now

I care about what my relatives / friends think about me;
but not strangers.

Because, i may hurt / make happy my friends and relatives with my behavior or the words that i say to them.

But with strangers, i will be in my limits so, i will not think about what they think about me.

I guess you understand what i am trying to say.

i was thinking about this question the other day,
i would have to say that i do not care what people think of me on a superficial level. but there are some that i care weather or not they feel i am doing the right thing, mostly in relation to raising my child, and with my family.
if i care about you, i care what you think. weather its about me or anything else. not that it would change anything, but i would want someone i care about to let me know i am going down the wrong road etc..

Our attitude should be such that people should not criticize you. And if they do then you have to improve yourself. Because one of the saint "Tukaram" says the house of creteciser should be near you. So we must care what other people think of us.

of course, I'm sure everyone cares about how they look these days ( mainly influenced from media). I'm always scared of how people think of me, and what kind of first impression they'll get of me by the way i look, dress, etc. But I hate it!! People can assume random things just by the way you look. Looks aren't everything and I wish everyone can just stop caring how they look. Sure we all need to keep our hair neat, brush our teeth, wear fresh clean clothes. But people are spending way to much money on getting the "in" clothes/brands (including me, to be honest). I WISH I could just be less self-conscious and say "whatever, who cares if I don't look like miss perfect" and just have fun... I wish.

I used to but sometime in my early 30's I just stopped caring. Life really does get better with age

even if someone answers NO to this question actualy they do, it's a fact.

if someone calls you a slut, jerk, or ugly , i bet anyone would go home and give it a little thought though they many not be willing to change themselves.

me, hmm, not really , i don't wanna put preassure on such things, i believe in myself and what i am, i don't need others to tell me what's wrong and right with me but if someone says" hey you smell" or something like that, then lol yeah i would care.
