It depends. There is hope in ignorance but again this is crossing semantic issues, because this is more so wishful thinking, having faith in something you "want" to occur, its an expectation from a distance since you don't have direct knowledge with it. An ignorant hope has no basis towards truth.

However I believe Rena may be representing her question from the perspective of one who has found, had direct acquaintance and or capacity being Enlightened to the degree that was in their power to. Ignorance is like a type of emptiness akin to a empty chest and that is its deficiency, it's lack. When that lack is rectified and filled it can not be unfilled, it's like filling it then sealing it. In this way one could say that their heart produces fruit of hope in the since that such a person has acquired the compassing connection with the very thing they look off to in desire. Where the image of inspiration or even worship has become a desire of attainment through this individual having already proved it within their own mind and heart. So every fruit the Heart will be produced will have this new element of knowing as ingredient to its ripening. Son such a hope is TRUTH hope as they are anticipating with a desire of obtainment with confidence since they have proved the very reality of that they sought within their own self - proven it in experience. There is a correlation between what the mind thinks and the heart feels and in fact you must bring the two into working harmony, so that your feelings reflect your Truth, that's your reaction is filled with Light and understanding.

Btw truth isn't relative, understanding is relative. I have no idea why people would believe Truth is relative. I suppose because there are different beliefs, but can't people see that beliefs are only a product of filters in mind/perspective that filters ever observation image and experience to that very limited polarized perspective that one has? This would mean that there can be a bit of truth in everything, but since man only sees in fragments, their truth is often merely a fragment of it. But if we all stand in front of a tree, we will all see different things on the tree, different parts of the tree will catch our eyes, however that is not truth our individual interpretation is made through out capacity to perceive what is there, the Tree would be the Truth. In this world to perceive the Truth as it is which is a Fullness, you must become a fullness. Truth is in becoming. Truth is like a ladder with many rungs, the rungs along are merely fragments, together they hold the whole.

I don't think hope is related to the truth. There are many hopes that end in disappointments.

Let's say that a mind that is away from truth, produces a heart with false hopes.

Nooooo

Hope has no connection with truth for eg see our politicians they dont have a truth bone in there body still they have lot of hope in there heart & mind.
Hope is something which only a courageous people can have & this hope keep igniting there life.
So every out there no matter what keep ur hope up.

I can not imagine a mind completely absent or empty of factual data, but whether a mind is insipidly positive or insipidly negative, there is a hope of a notion. If there is no such notion or the notion is failing vivaciousness then the mental illness is depression. We all begin with an empty head and hopes necessity lies outside our self. The truth inside us then is impersonal but potent, our positivity is unconscious for the person, but negativity is only a glimmer of a distant concept, its substance is almost purely spiritual.

The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.

The Erikson life-stage virtues, in the order of the stages in which they may be acquired, are:

hope- Basic Trust vs. Mistrust

will- Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt

purpose- Initiative vs. Guilt

competence- Industry vs. Inferiority

fidelity- Identity vs. Role Confusion

love (in intimate relationships, work and family)- Intimacy vs. Isolation

caring- Generativity vs. Stagnation

wisdom- Ego Integrity vs. Despair

A mind devoid of truth can still make a guess. And hoping for guesses isn't always folly.

Hi Rena! I'm back!!!
Everybody has hope, whether shallow or deep. There always is, to some extend, some truth in each of us, as a stream for certain perceptions, imagination, even gut feelings...
That's why it's said that: there is a crack in every thing; that's how the light gets in... therefore, there's hope in every heart!
My opinion! Take care!

No, nor is the opposite necessarily true.

Even the overly optimistic can be ignorant of the truth just as much as the deeply pessimistic can be aware of it.

There is no definite correlation between what the mind thinks and what the heart feels.

No. It may produce such so, but i believe it can change the way it thinks to the other way around.. meaning, it can, and it should be able to command the heart anyway it(mind) wants to internalize, in all facets, not only one. Mind over matter, remember..

Truth is subjective, therefore a mind cannot be devoid of truth.

I don't think there is such a thing as a mind devoid of truth...there has to be some truth there even if its not perceived as such by others.
