yea i dont understand it too
im for it
like im guessin some people dont want gay marriage because of their religion but we all have many beliefs
uhmm also some parents dont think thats right because if they legalize it more gay people will start to come out of the closet
and people are afraid thats a bad influence for their children.
like they think being gay is going to be an option for their children
uhmm
i dont think being gay is chosen
like yea maybe some people choose to be gay but still
we all have the freedom to love whom we love

I know what you mean, there's nothing condemnable or wrong aboot being gay and having all of the same rights as straight people; gay people are people like all of us (as such, they deserve the respect and dignity people all deserve). The big deal, well, christians (and some other religious followers) think it's a sin to be gay and conside marriage a sacred thing, so they think gay people are breaking "divine laws". I don't believe in that, since I'm an atheist. I'm all for gay marriage and any gay rights.

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with it and it's just the narrow-minded people (often calling themselves Christians) that are against it because they think the Bible said it was not natural.
People should be free to love and marry whomever they want. It's not hurting anyone else, and it's no one else's business.

If society is going to "accredit" loving relationships between consenting single adults, it should not discriminate on the basis of gender.
This is not a religious issue. Those who believe it is are welcome to continue marrying the opposite sex according to their religious dictates. There's no reason to have that arbitrary limitation in the law, however.
Churches should be free not to conduct any wedding they deem improper...but remember that a clergyman's power to wed does not come from his church...but from state law, which lists clergy among authorized officiants.
Civil officials should be available to same-sex and opposite-sex couples who choose to marry, without discrimination.
P.S. I'm straight and I hate hypocrisy. How many of those who voted for the Defense of Marriage Act are on their second or later marriage?

my opinion is
"Live and Let Live"
I believe that gay couples should have the right to marry and should have the right of survivorship. I've heard too many horror stories about gay couples who loose their companion only to have the parents of their companion bulldoze their way in and exclude them out of funeral arrangements, being mentioned as survivor in the services and obituary, and left virtually penniless and out in the street.
This is not right and the law should protect them as they would any straight couple.

I believe in Yin n Yan the balance of everthing...for me a gay marraige does not reflect that and especially when i personally look at marraige as a pledge of love n having kids (symbol of love)...so the gay equation does not work out for me

no big deal.
i could care less, its like caring what anyone else on the planet is doing in their private lives, not my business.
some say its immoral, a breakdown of the family value system, blah, blah, blah..
it's like any other contoversial issue, someone has a problem with it, and makes it an issue.
there are a million issues that should be looked into, this aint one.

I'm not against it, but the argument is that it goes against God and The Bible, and whatever Christians believe is a sin should be a sin to everybody. They also argue that it's not natural and not traditional.
The same people should not drive, being that God gave them legs & not wheels. They should also not be here on the internet, because God gave them brains, mouths and hands, not computers and ISP's. These are things that are also unnatural, right?
As far as traditions are concerned, I don't see them writing letters to congress asking them to ban drive-thru weddings (which my wife and I did), or diamond rings (since the diamond rings were only introduced after DeBeers started a marketing campaign). If traditions were meant to be maintained at all times, then women would not be able to vote.

I'm against it. I think that the human bodies were made the way they are for a reason. A man and a woman are created they way they are to reproduce. Not possible between two girls or two guys. It's just not natural. But I don't have too much of a problem as long as they don't advertise themselves in public that much. But I also hate when straight people are all over each other in public too. I think it's unnatural but I guess it's there lives. I wont preach to them if they don't preach to me.
