A survival knife for starters and one of those complete ones, with a compass in the pommel, a hollow handle to store matches and fishing line and a whetstone attached to the scabbard

-Some way of communication (preferrable cellphone, but laptop, etc...)
-A bag full of food and water
-A car to travel around in for a time
-Items that could send signals to others for help
-A person travelling with you that could help
