The refrigerator and microwave will not turn on now. No other appliances or outlets in my house are affected. The GFI outlet near the refrigerator does not respond. Resetting the kitchen circuit breakers has no impact. What is the problem and what do you recommend I do about it? I would try to fix it myself if possible. I'm worried about all my food spoiling! :( Thanks!

run an extension cord to your kitchen appliances to see if they are working properly. The problem with kitchen melt downs is usually water oriented. Possible a leak in the walls that is causing the power to short out. check under your cabinets and the walls behind for signs of moisture.
If your appliances are working properly something has shorted out in the wall. Sorry, you are going to have to call the electrician and possibly the plumber.

good luck!
