Reality is an illusion.
This is more easily understandable if one considers the actual scale of the components of an atom. If one takes into account the fact that the neutrons, protons and electrons of an atom actually have huge spaces between them it becomes clear that the atoms that make up seemingly solid objects are made up of 99+ percent empty space.
This alone does not seem too important till you add the idea that the atoms that make up seemingly solid objects are more of a loose conglomeration that share a similar attraction but never really touch each other.
At first glance this does not really seem relevant, but closer analysis reveals that this adds a tremendous amount of empty space to solid objects that are already made up of atoms that are 99 percent space. When so-called solid objects are seen in this light it becomes apparent that they can in no way be the seemingly solid objects they appear to be.
We ourselves are not exceptions to this phenomenon.
These seemingly solid objects are more like ghostly images that we interpret as solid objects based on our perceptual conclusions.
From this we must conclude that Perception is some sort of a trick that helps us to take these ghostly images and turn them into a world we can associate and interact with. This clever device seems to be a creation of our intellect that enables us to interact with each other in what appears to be a three dimensional reality.
I hope that helps to answered your question.
Love and blessings Don

There is no balance between classical realism and idealism, for realism asserts a reality, a world, apart from the mind (that is, even if you or I were to cease to exist, reality would still be present, in the same, tp others as it was when we existed). Idealism says that there is no material world that exists, period. All that exists is immaterial. The world we sense is a world produced by the mind, not objective apart from the mind. So far as George Berkeley is concerned. As far as Immanuel Kant is concerned there is a "real world" (what he called the noumenal world) but it cannot be known. What is know is the phenomenal world. We experience this world by "pure concepts", or the categories of the understanding. Literally, causality, substance, reality, space, time, etc. are categories OF THE MIND. Sounds weird? Well, an idealist to the this nature believes these categories constitute YOUR experience, and therefore causality, space, time, etc are a priori (prior to the senses) and within the mind. We must be certain of them, for even if think of objects, removing parts of the object we think of all the way until there is no object left in our mind there is still the space where it was. Time is still present. These things are not abstracted. We can be certain they are in the mind constituting our very experience of the phenomenal world.
This is a long drawn-out debate and still lingers on today. In fact, realism is on the rise once more.

the question is.. what isnt reality? the true definition is unknown . Sure we may think that the physical world is really who we are. but in the long run it could be our dreams...or both.... it depends. realtiy to me does not exist, becasue everything we touch here see in our minds and feel in our dreams is some type of reality.
the ultimate answer: unknown

money at a guess it is quite easy to be anything you want if you have sufficient funds.
Put it another way the major difference between being outright weird and eccentric is the size of your bank balance

Reality is our interpretation of our surroundings through our senses. Whether that interpretation is correct or not is open to debate.

Reality is believing that wall does not exist. You therefore run headfirst into that "non-existent" wall. You experience pain.
