That is a tough call. McCain is,but he put party before country or family. I lost respect for him then. He did more than Bush ever thought about in service to his country. Yet he betrayed his country by allowing himself to be disrespected

McCain was following family tradition when he joined the navy and flew jets. To say Bush never served in Vietnam is a matter of record. However, by the time he had completed his training as a jet fighter pilot , the war was winding down and the plane he was qualified to fly, the F-104, was taken out of production.

As for John McCain, he spent 5 years as a POW after his plane was shot down in Vietnam. However, when his VC captors discovered that McCain's father, the Admiral, was in charge of all military forces in the Pacific, including Vietnam, John McCain's 5 years as a POW were a lot easier than they could have been. In fact McCain actually gained weight over the 5 years he spent as a POW.

John McCain is a great American that served his nation and was in the HANOI HILTON during vietnam. GW was in the middle of Texas in the Nation guard with a thumb up his a** snorting coke and getting DUI's. He ran every business in his power into the ground including the Texas Rangers baseball franchise. John McCain knows what it is to be a patriot. GW knows what it is to have everything handed to him by daddy including the Presidency he never actually one and i am a republican and i will admitt that.

McCain in 08!!!!!!!

Both are patriots. I give McCain alot of credit after what he went through and the fact that he still wants to serve. I truely believe that both men have the best interest of the nation in mind.

Bush is a true patriot!

He has protected unappreciative liberal bottoms for 7 years.

Despite the whining about loss of rights, I have never heard anyone provide a real-world example.

They are still posting ridiculous point of view here and I don't see Bush running around hitting the "Violation" button. In contrast, liberals seem to hit the button on me quote often. Where's the freedom of speech for me? I am oppressed by YA liberals... :)

I voted for Bush in 2000. Mainly to beat Gore. And back then my concern was not of foreign threats. I knew that airplanes were bombs and Clinton lied. Then 9-11, 2001 changed my focus.
McCain was not on my radar. He is now. ABsolutely and I can not be more certain that he is the one to handle world leaders and our interests. Beyond the economy, immigration and the rest. I have said it before we have checks and balances for that. If we set another Democrat in the WHite House we have troubles. Although I would consider Obama again if I had to. Last resort. No other GOP candidate works for me. I vote with individual not party, always have. Despite the card I carry in my wallet.

Mc Cain is what he says. Patriotic. Bush never served. He has the spirit yet can not compare to the honest heart of a veteran. Then add one who was a POW and still wants to serve. **

McCain. He was a POW and never lost faith in his country.

I know McCain ran for President against Bush, and I voted for him against Bush.

john mccain, he actually went and fought in vietnam while dumbya hid behind his daddy's apron strings. Notice how chicken-george "swift-boated" mccain back in 2000.

I'll go for McCain, since he has truly sacrified for this nation, through his service in Vietnam, and his excellent record of public service. He has fought for this nation with his heart, and acts in what he believes, is the best interest of the nation, rather than only towing the party line.
