Might you know where to find out answer for: Are Maryland and California suing EPA to strengthen or weaken air quality laws?

CA requested that the EPA allow the State to set it's own air quality rules, tougher than the EPA ones.

Businesses all objected, because they don't want to have to make two sets of everything - one for CA and one for the other States, and the EPA said that no, CA cannot overrule the EPA rules.

CA businesses also objected, because they didn't want businesses in other States to be able to operate more cheaply than CA businesses, and the Unions objected because they said that businesses in CA would lay off employees and move to other States if it was cheaper to operate there.
