Sure the H*LL don't, every other thing I ring up it says you need assistance and I wait another 5 minutes. And out of 8 of them at the grocery store I shop only 3 ever work.

It's good to get used to such things. We're only going to begin to see more of them.
I like them sometimes because if I just have 2 or 3 things I need to get, I don't have to worry about standing behind someone with 20.
At the walmart here, they have 4 machines to 1 human in the self-checkout and they almost always seem to be clear.

Nope. I quit shopping at the Giant Market 4 years ago when they installed a couple of self checkouts; Haven't been in there since!

No mam,
I do not. Surely some will call me old fashioned and old school etc........I feel like this: I am your customer, I support your business, there are at least 6 other 'grocery' stores within a 5-mile radius that I could have gone to. Yet, I came here, to spend my money with you..........the LEAST professional courtesy you could show me, is to :speak to me, conduct a payment transaction and bag my goods"...........
The self checkout seems to scream at me, "get in , get your stuff, leave your money, and don't bother ME while you do it".

I like it if i have a simple purchase. if i am buying produce or gift cards it takes longer and is more of a hassle than the average clerk. I can scan and bag fater than the clerk can. Also the usually bag to few items per bags so that an old aldy can carry each bag up a flight of stairs. I like my bags full so i dont have to make so many trips to the car.

No, I hate shopping and I definitely don't like going through self-checkout.

sometimes, but other times it's really an inconvenience and takes longer than just going through the normal checkout line.

I don't mind if i only purchase a few items, because it gets me out of the store quicker. However i don't like the fact that it replaces a worker, even if it is a minimum wage job.

I do, if I just have a few things that are easy to scan, run my debit card through and go.
If I have a lot of groceries, I tend to not use it.
