the slowest pentium 4 processor is slower than the fastest celeron D processor.. for about the same price?

they are the same processor. the celeron in the budget line. so something has been turned off or removed so it runs slower at the same speed. in other words, the celeron does less work at the same speed as the p4.

yes. the p4 has 3 while the celeron has 2.2
