People are just leery. It's more of a gut feeling than anything else, but I'm not sure where to turn for answers. Suggestions? I don't want to cause static in the church more than is already there by "asking around" until I have some facts to present. If there are, in fact, facts TO present.....

Things of his "past: don't add up. And interestingly, there are no "elders". He started this church, and it has more turnover than McDonalds. People just don't come back after awhile. There are things, just, more than anything else... it's a gut feeling.

There are many companies online that will do background checks. I've used US Search before and was satisfied with the information profided. http://www.ussearch.com/.

All adult criminal records are pubic. If you go to your local law enforcement agency, they can refer you to the proper government office that can print out someone's record for you. They might charge you a small clerical fee for this. You'd want to do this for every known area this individual has lived in.

Who are the elders of your church who know the history of the pastor? Why not ask them. You are just curious to know his background..
