If your wife was okay with you telling a friend that she looks sexy, then you would be in the right.
Since your wife feels that it is inappropriate that you tell another woman that she is sexy, then you are wrong.
It is your job as her husband to honor her, cherish her, love her. Your first thought is whether or not your wife would appreciate your behavior. If the answer is no, then you shouldn't do it out of respect for her and your marriage.

Yes it is wrong, You can think it all you want but don't tell her if she is your friend, that will make your friend feel a little weired, not saying how that makes your wife feel, would you want your wife to go around tell her male friends hey man you are sure sexy, how would you feel, if you want to know if something is right or wrong ask your self if my wife did that how would i feel, I am going on 12 years of marrage and happy, but it takes two, and lots of hard work,

You are completely disrespecting your wife. You are to look at her as beautiful above all others. Saying that about another woman makes your wife feel like she's less pretty and you are going after other women. While you might think it's harmless, you shouldn't be giving that kind of attention to anyone but your wife.

There are ways of telling your female friends they look sexy without coming off as flirting. If they already know they are sexy, there's not much point to reminding them; however if you have a friend that's insecure, then it's friendly reinforcement.

If your wife doesn't think it is appropriate to compliment other women with the word "sexy" then you shouldn't.
Try finding a different word, like "you look nice."

If it makes your wife uncomfortable you should respect her feelings. Just because it is a little thing to give up to keep your wife's trust.
Also you may want to make a point of saying it to your wife more often so she doesn't feel as threatened by that kind of thing.

Well after being married 6 years you should know by now that's not okay. Telling her she lloks nice is dangerous enough, telling her she loks sexy is a definate nono. In her mind that is flirting.

I would feel very uncomfortable if a male friend told me I looked sexy, especially a married male friend. I would wonder if he was coming on to me and I would distance myself from him. It's a good way to end a friendship.

i think just keep it to your mind and not tell your wife that you find other girls sexy, i find that bad and inconsiderate. it like theres a hidden desire there aside from your wife. remember you can also commit sin just by thinking.
