to the wall using an electric drill. My problem is it's a heavy picture and I'm Afraid if I don't secure it to a stud, it may not be steady. could I get away with using wall anchors?

OK. I'll bite and take this seriously (although it's gonna be really hard to do so -- but as it's posted in H&G and not P&S) and bite. Depending on the weight of Ronald's portrait, wall anchors oughtta do the trick, provided the portrait doesn't weigh more than 35lbs. Otherwise I'd say, just screw it, leave on the floor or make a table out it.

Between You, me and a paler shade, I found the method to the Q humorous, and I'm up against a wall. I suspect HE screwed himself when he Movied with Bonzo, but I liked him.

Certainly You might know HEAVY but we don't, and I wonder of the SIZE, especially the width, and want to assume that you have studs 16 or 24 on center, and could use braided picture hanging wire.

If Wall anchors are your only option, and depending on the weight, I'd probably try the plastic, threaded, screw in anchors, and at least CLOSE TO a stud, then screws into them and hang on wire.

What your exploring is SHEAR weight, not just gravity, and drywall, while it MIGHT hold, is subject to being crumbled as anything is inserted into it, hence the Paper becomes the bearer of more of the weight. Obviously you could use "Allligator mouth" Hollow wall anchors but that means a larger hole, albeit hidden.

Just my two cents

Well, you could always use nine inch nails that way you are not using wall anchors and you will make enough noise to wake the dead with all that banging!

Or you could just put it in the closet, against the wall :) that way saving putting holes in your walls. And, if people would like to 'view' this fantastic painting then they can just step into the closet!

Yes...use a double anchor set into wall. Your picture frame also needs a double or looped wire. This way it lets you adjust the frame on the wal to make sure it's straight...but yet holds the weight with both hooks.

These Hercules hooks really work...they can hold 3 times what that picture weighs. I'm sending you this sight link....but you can find them at other places.

surely, there became a e book many years in the past stated as "Snow Crash" , between the minor sub-threads of the tale became the state of america, which curiously grew to change into defunct in this storyline except for countless sources, some thing were bought off or some such. The relaxing element became at the same time as most of the characters ought to pay to get carry of unlawful supplies (Freon) for an associate, they ought to pay money - about a million trillion money, and they paid in "Gippers", ("Gippers" were named for Ronald Reagan in 2030 or thereabouts, he became the face of the a million billion greenback invoice) at the same time as the greenback grew to change into worthless after hyperinflation. i have continually idea that became very installation.

Anyone who would have a portrait of Ronald Reagan is already screwed. Throw it away.

You should be able to place it on the wall in the place where you want it , let it go & watch for divine intervention, God would not let such an object, fall to the floor!
