On a scale of 0-10 what do you give Maximum Overdrive?

Me I would give it a 7, it wasn't what you call a great movie but it is a very enjoyable and the cheese factor was really high, I do wish the characters would have better character development though.

I would give it an 8, the music was great but the acting was substandard, I couldn't agree with you more on the character development of the movie, I thought the character development wasn't done very well.

My favorite part of Maximum Overdrive was when the waitress kept losing her cool with the trucks and started yelling and screaming "WE MADE YOU!" at the trucks, that part was totally hilarious!

It's a hell of a lot better than the ending of The Mist. Iam an AC/DC and Stephen King fanatic, and The Mist totally let me down in the end. He doesn't kill everyone at the end. It makes you feel much worse than before you went in. What's the point. At least you leave the Dixie Boy survivors with them leaving for the island on the big boat where there's no mechanical or automobiles allowed. The short story doesn't have a happy ending in it. The Mist really doesn't have one either. They just drive off.

I think 7 is totally accurate.

I mean, it is not exactly what you would call fine cinematic fare. People shred this movie. But I love all the Stephen King movies, even the bad ones. I even liked Children of the Corn for crying out loud.

Yeah, it could of been done better, yes, Emilio's acting leaves much to be desired and yes, it deviated from the book A LOT, but every time it is on, I find myself watching it so I guess that is all that really counts, isn't it? :)

1.

It has to be the worst adaptation of any Stephen King novel. The only "amusing" high point is to hear Lisa Simpson (Yeardley Smith) acting

a 7 is good for me as well..i am a big AC/DC fan and Stephen King fan...it would have been a little too cheesy for most people...i can see why it gets bad ratings however
