I love to make my best friend gifts, I always have the best luck when I give her these.
Right now I am looking for ideas for gifts I could create.
Please nothing boring, like a photo album, it has been done!
Examples of things i have made include: a quilt, a table glazed with personal pics, collages, and cards...
What have you made that bowl people over?
I was considering decorating a vase or something, I just don't know how to ad a personal touch, any ideas?

using a glass vase, get glass paint and paint best friend quotes, your names, important things, if not an artist, or not willing to try, decoupage pictures on the outside of it, seal with decoupage glue and include a gift certificate from a floral shop.
The same thing can be done with glass bowls or plates, to use or display. you could also use a picture of the two of you on the bottom of a clear glass plate, seal with a couple of coats of decoupage glue. remind her it will be hand wash only.

You could pick up some glass paints from the craft store. Maybe get a clear vase and tape a picture to the inside facing out, and trace over the picture with your paints on the outside of the vase, then remove the picture.

Why not redo their bedside lamp? You can buy lamp shades that allow you to attach fabric to it, maybe some seam binding around the top and bottom edges.
It could even be made of paper.
