He once lobbied for some abortion rights group; in fairness, he was working for someone else at the time and had to take whatever he was assigned.
He also got his girlfriend knocked up at 16; that's why he got married so young. At least he stayed with her, though.

Fred has a lot of failings.
He failed miserably to hold Clinton et all accountable for the treason and corruption of Chinagate.
Thompson migt have switched on immigtration, but as a Senator, he opposed holding companies accountable and opposed making it easier for employers to find out the legal status of employees or prospects.
Thompson was once pro-abortion and even his position today, or returning the matter to the states, would ensure the continuation of legalized feticide in at least 1/2 of the country.
Thompson, himself a lawyers, opposes tort reform using a specious interpretation of Federalism.
Finally Fred Thompson voted to gut the First Ammendment restictions on government censorship in the guise of "Campaign Finance Reform"
On a personal level, Thompson was the token conservative/ useful idiot cover for the liberals at "Law and Order".
