We control the executive branch and still have plenty of seats in the house and senate to defeat impeachment unless Republicans turn on our President Bush.

People, Impeachment is terribly misunderstood in this country.
First of all, it is not something to be acted on lightly. It refers to it, in the Constitution, has high crimes and misdemeanors. The literal interpretation drops the misdemeanor part and focuses on high crimes.
A high crime is considered at minimum a felony, i.e. lying under oath and upto treason. George W. Bush, like him or not, has not committed any offense that would meet the burden of any of this.
If lying to the American people by a politician was against the law, they would all be in jail, bar none.
Someone mentioned they still control allot of seats. That has nothing to do with it. The Republicans didn't have enough seats, yet fair minded Democrats voted for 2 out of the 4 articles of impeachment for Bill Clinton.
I don't understand why the left cannot get beyond the WMD thing. Saddam Hussein admitted to his CIA interrogator what many already suspected.
Saddam used disinformation to lead his enemies to believe he had such weapons so they would not attack him.
He would send scientists and other people out of the country to feed the west lies about his programs. There were to tell just enough to keep us all scared of him, but not to much as to have the tanks roll in.
Let's talk about WMDs. When we went in, we found:
80 Medium Range Missiles - He wasn't supposed to have - that could have carried a WMD payload to Israel or Japan.
Remains of Mustard, Sarin and other gas.
Nuclear material the IAEA had locked down in his country was missing when we showed up to inspect it.
Huge weapons cashes he was not supposed to have.
Papers detailing the extent of their chemicals weapons program.
Not to mention all the satellite intel we had leading up to the war that he had convoys of truck going into Syria the days before the war. Any chance there were any WMDs in there?
Then how about the fact he was responsible for torture and murder of over 1,000,000 of his own people? How can the left cry out about Darfur, when they turn a blind eye to that?
If we want to talk about lying, let's get honest about it. The left lies constantly to prop up their weak arguments and hatred of George Bush.
For as much as conservatives didn't like Clinton, their was never the hatred lobbed on him that George Bush has received.
I always looked at Clinton as a used car salesman in a Armani suit.
Also, there is a difference from being impeached and being removed from office. Bill Clinton was impeached, but obviously not removed.
While his censure by the legislative branch was not allowed under the constitution, the Republicans allowed it to settle the matter and move on. With the articles passed they could have dragged in front of the Senate for a trial and they chose the reasonable path to settle the issue.
I do not mind debate, that is what this country was founded on. However, we the left speaks it is so often vile and hateful. No meaningful discourse, just I hate all Republicans and George Bush. That is not debate, that is just being petty.

Ah, ignorance rears its ugly head once again.
The first and second parts of your question have nothing to do with each other. Even if he was impeached (accused) he would not necessarily be removed from office. Actually, he wouldn't because they wouldn't get the 2/3 vote in the Senate. Worked for Clinton.
Have fun letting that all sink in.

Being the worst president we ever had is not an impeachable offense. Paying fox news to spread your propaganda is not an impeachable offense. Outing Valarie Plame is an impeachable offense, and so is pardoning scotter so he shuts up could be considered bribery, but its par for the course for some pee-on to take the fall (oliver north, Iran contra's). Torture is illegal, but if you destroy the evidence, and promise only to do it to those dark people who we all know are bad for defending their country against occupation by a foreign country, who cares? Until they come for you!

If lying resulted in removal from office, we could all start over with newly elected officials, from top to bottom.
Making us look bad is not an impeachable offense.
Wasting money is your subjective opinion. Many citizens, like me, like the way the money is being spent. I like terrorist killed each and every day. If we ignore them, they won't just go away (mom's advice sometimes works for playground bullies, not insane radical islamists).
It takes high crimes and misdemeanors...that's how it is.
Wishes just aren't enough!
