Gas was 29 cents a gallon back in 1955 and a candy bar was 5 cents. Now gas is $3.00 and the candy bar is 55 cents. Sounds to me like inflation has increased most things by 10x. Nobody is to blame it's just a growing economy.

Wait! Now that our leader has signed the ethanol bill requiring cars to get 35 mpg by 2020, you will see inflation rise 400%. He waited of course till he knew he would be safely out of office living in luxury. Ethanol is made from grain..the same grainn in cereal, and fed to live stock in the food chain. Cereal alone is predicted to top over 7Dollars a box. Gas may top 10 dollars a gallon or more, and the economy will collapse. We have fool in the White House.

Yep. I am glad you didn't out yourself as completely uneducated by implying that there was some sort of connection between those two events. Oh wait, I guess you did and I just wasn't paying attention, my bad.
Tell you what. I challenge you to add on to this question and explain what EXACTLY is causing gas and oil prices to go up. I'll even give you a hint, if you have to use the word "Iraq" in your explanation, you are probably on your way to being wrong.

You think that's expensive?! Try buying it in the UK, it's 3X more expensive here!!
... Why would someone give my answer a thumbs down? I'm only making a point that it's much more expensive elsewhere. Just check the link and compare the price around the world.
