Agree.
People do not always love you unconditionally. A pet will do just that...love you unconditionally.
It is this that we want...someone/something that will love us despite our faults.

The more I know People the more I love God. Animals consciousness is lower so they don't generally argue with the hand that feeds them. Animals are people too who are covered completely by material nature. They eat sleep mate and defend as do humans. But a human has free will to choose right and wrong and good and bad. An animal can kill or steel and not be considered sinful. Humans- we expect more from them. Have you noticed the consciousness of a cat. (out door ones) they constantly stalk other beings. They want to torment it play with it then kill it. That is their mind. They can be extremely envious. A dog he thinks he is the Guard and this is my property. Bark Bark. some will do their best to kill someone who trespasses. and fish well they say nothing. You have a common point, but we have to take off the illusory glasses and see things on a bigger scale. That ultimately those animals will get a human body in one life or anther and end up doing and saying the same things as we do. We are now at the point of being tested animals are not. So lets try to pass the tests and act in compassion and try to love others the way you like to be loved. Then people will want to associate with us and we will enjoy their company as well. We need loving exchanges with people. But it has to be with the understanding not to exploit or control but to love as a brother or sister of the same Supreme Father. Otherwise our relationships with humans will suck. They take work. Human evolution takes work. But it is worth it when you find your highest self.

Agree. though I have always found comfort in the undemanding company of my cat, more and more these days I wonder why I ever venture out my door, why I ever get to wanting human company. I find that I enjoy this forum for just that reason. I can sit here with my cat purring in my lap, and exchange ideas and opinions with others without having to leave my own home.

I don't presently have a pet, but it's true that (in general) I'm not a big fan of "people"...I have friends and family that I love, and I know the world has MANY really groovy people in it, but alas there are too many who are less than kewl.

Sometimes; but, I always love my pet.
If one doesn't expect; one won't be hurt.
