In Egypt there was a common belief in an afterlife and depending on how you were remains were dealt with made your afterlife better. Being mummified and being buried with gold and all that stuff essentially guaranteed, to them, that they'd continue being rich and powerful even in death.

Keeping the body of an individual intact after death was necessary so that the soul would have a place to live after death. It wasn't only the Pharoahs that were buried. Mortuary services were available to anyone who could pay for them, although wealthy members of society could afford more elaborate services. Even the poorest Egyptians were buried, if only in a shallow grave. The earliest burials have found that people were put into the fetal position for burial, a position that is supposed to signify the rebirth into the next world.
From the earliest periods of Egyptian history, all Egyptians were buried with at least some burial goods which they thought necessary after death. At a minimum, these usually consisted of everyday objects such as bowls, combs, and other trinkets, along with food. Wealthier Egyptians could afford to be buried with jewelry, furniture, and other valuables.

Pharoahs were a god incarnate...Amon-Ra...they were buried so magnificently, with all possessions, treasure, food, wine, everything they had in life....so that they would lead the same life they led on Earth.

The weighing of the heart...the heart of the pharoah was put on one side of the scales, and a feather was put on the other side...signifying the good life this man ,or woman( yes, there were 2 or more female pharoahs) when the feather tipped the scales up....the 'heart' was light and pure of wrongdoing.

It's a long story! Visit the....Rituals of Burying a Pharoah...on the internet.

I'm not entirely sure what your asking? But in the old Egyptian times it was beleived the body travelled to a new world where it continued to live.So a royal was buried with their servants, pets, money and food. Also they were buried secretly so no grave robbers would find them.

Dust you are and to dust you shall return. Remember that from your Bible study. Pharaohs were very religious people and pride themselves in following "the book" right to the letter. They would prepare a proper burial tomb (pyramid) completely furnished with armies and all the amenities they would need when they arrived at the next world.

it is their belief that when their royals is buried, it can peacefully travel to a new world in the next life. other royals are buried in a sacred place or something so that the royal can be elevated as a God. sometimes, they bury their royals with their belongings, servants, and other valuables.

Burial is a custom. For pharaohs it is a way of our learning more about life in our history. I guess they will do the same to us one day.
