is it normal for your upper to middle part of your stomach to be rock hard and have no pain. my stomach is usually always hard and its like that for a long time, its rare me feeling my stomach and its not hard..the lower part of the stomach..the part that curves down is always soft and pokeable..but the top and middle part are usually always rock hard..but i dont any any pains...is it still contractions?? is it normal?? thanks in advace!! oh and im 38 weeks preg.

probably braxton hicks contractions and yes they are normal

Your fundus will always be harder than the under part of the belly. You collect fat around the lower area, but the pressure of the uterus and baby focus more keenly up high where theres just skin.

You can have very long lasting contractions- I used to get some that lasted 30 minutes or more. But those just feel like a sit up, or just a tightness.

A pregnant belly in itself is very hard.

You are full! The baby is more or less at full term and there is no more room. All your organs are squashed up high with a baby adding more pressure. At same stage and can really understand the discomfort no pain yet lucky you but won't be long now.
