I only say "i love you" back if I mean it. If I don't love the person I just say "thank you."

I only say it when I mean it. My ex still tells me he loves me and I say thank you. Why lie about something like that?

I mean it. I don't know anyone that I don't love that's ever said "I love you". In my family we say it a lot. At every goodbye.

I usually say, "Well, how could you not! I mean, look at me!" Then I do a little spin to show off the goods.
