What I mean is, when did we lose our respect for tradition. I’m still very young, but where is the respect for the Office of President of the United States of America. You don’t have to be a 100% supporter for President Bush, you can even disagree with him 100%, to know that there is a certain amount of respect due to the President of the USA, all of them liberal or conservative. It makes me sick that the disrespect has reached such fevered heights that the young should be the moral guides for the old. Everything: President, Supreme Court Judges, Senator, Members of The House and all Government Employees all are treated with such disrespect. It is as if we reverted back to little children, with name calling and whining about people we don’t like.

There has NEVER been undue respect for any public office in this country. If you honestly seek a realistic view of history, look closely at the debates that have taken place in Congress over the years. Look at how they have had battles with the executive office and at the disrespectful things they have said and accused even in the 1800's. The truth is that today, we have little subtlety as was the case back then. We do not couch our insults in vague language or entendre, but we are really not all that different from our forebearers.

I must say I can't agree with you.
Carter and Clinton sold out America and ALL the Democratic candidates are rushing to beat each other in selling us further down the tubes to every form of tyranny ever conceived of by the evil machinations of mankins darkest desites for corrupt power.
I NEED the opportunitie to rant about those self interested TYRANTS!
Both were Anti-American and if a Democrat gets elected this time around, I will take the LEAD in disrespect for the President.

I sincerely hope you aren't just noticing this now. It's a mental disorder, called Bush Derangement Syndrome. Spitting fury, irrationality, and foaming at the mouth are symptoms; a liberal (no pun intended) dose of the truth is the only known cure.

Funny thing about respect. Like money, it has to be earned.
