Geocaching accessories.....?

My fiance just got a GPS and is getting into geocaching. I was wondering if there are any good things I could get him to go along with it. Because it is cold I already got him a thermal breathy shirt thingy. What else?

A backpack to carry his stuff in

A book on geocaching - search on amazon.com for it.

some rechargable batteries and a charger.
