My responses would be something along the lines of, "And your point is?" or perhaps, "Oh, thanks for sharing. What you think is so important to me (sarcastically of course), honest".
Or finally through it back at them that they noticed; "Gee, do you check out the arms and legs of every guy or just me?".

Look I played football in high school and a year in college. But at only 6 foot and 180lbs I was too small in college for a linebacker so my sophomore and junior years I played soccer. Don't let them give you any crap.

There is nothing wrong with shaving. But remember it is a personal (or sports) choice and some people simply aren't going to get that. There are always going to be some idiot saying it's gay or giving you crap (probably because you look great) and you just have to realize that. But most guys who choose to shave and realize how great it really is, realize that the benefits far outweigh the downfalls. So don't even sweat it when they say stupid ****. Shave and be proud. You've doing it to show off anyway.

While it's normal to have hair, women shave to appear nicer as it's socially accepted that women and hair on their legs, pits, and face = UGLY. I think a guy that shaves, either for personal or other reasons, shouldn't be embarrassed. You're doing it for YOU. Not for someone else. If you want to shave because you're constantly exposed and don't feel comfortable with that, you might want to evaluate actually shaving. If you're a hairy guy, it'll be noticed fast, and people will poke fun. Weigh the pros and cons of this before acting.

Why would you want to shave your legs and arms? If you are hairy, you are hairy. What's the big deal? Some people whose ancestors were hairy will carry that gene. Accept it. I have known women to shave various parts of their body because of the clothes they wear , but I never met a vain man who removed unwanted hair.

It's a fashion, and it's harmless. If you like it, go ahead.

And you might ask what personal interest the jerks have in whether you're gay or not. Maybe they're just really bad at asking for dates.

Real men do not shave anything except their face. EVER! And real manly men don't even shave their face.

It's too feminine to shave your legs, arms, and armpit hair. It's perfectly normal to have leg, arm, and armpit hair if you are a guy.
