As long as you were only with one guy....don't worry about it...

But you seem to have about a week long gap there between your possible period times...doesn't seem like a problem to me.

And Congrats!!!

First off, Congrats!! When a doctor first determines you are pregnant, they determine your due date by the first date of your last period. This is not totally accurate, since some women ovulate on an irregular basis, and also because you have a time frame of about 3 weeks after your last period when you could have gotten pregnant. Once an ultrasound is done, the doctor can more accurately tell how far along you are, though this is not entirely accurate - it's more of an educated guess. For example, when I was pregnant with my first, I was given an ultrasound 2 days before I gave birth. My son was actually 1 pound heavier than what the doctor estimated on the ultrasound. From what you have told us, especially since you were not exactly sure of the date of your LMP, you and your baby are fine. It was an estimated due date (EDD) you were given. Alot of women who think they were past their due date are just a victim (for lack of a better term) of a miscalculated due date. Good Luck and enjoy being pregnant!!

I was 15 weeks and measured out to be 17 weeks. At this point in the game it you could be either. Every woman and baby developes at different speeds, their own rate/pace, especially after the first 8-10 weeks. That is why it is not uncommon to be off by 2 weeks either way. That is why it is an estimated due date. Since you do not know your lmp, they may go by a toss up date in the middle. It is really up to your doctor and his normal practice in this situation. I'd ask him about it and run with that. Afterall he is the person that will chose to/not to induce you if you "go over".

Best of luck and congratulations!!

are you sure the 17 weeks isn't the day the ultrasound was done? :)

You could be 15 weeks but the docs usually add two weeks because they count from you LMP which is usually two weeks before the time of conception.

The ultrasound is the best way to tell how far along you are. Especially if you didn't have regular periods prior to pregnancy you may have actually ovulated earlier than you thought you did. Also some women have implant bleeding and mistake it for a period. So definately go by the dates the ultrasound gives you.

That's perfectly normal. I wasn't exactly sure on the last date of my lmp. So they just basically go off of when you think it was and how big the baby is. They changed my due date a couple times along the way with me. So I wouldn't worry about it.

Dont stress, ultrasounds can be off by up to 2 weeks. When i went for my 21 week scan my boy was measuring at 23 weeks. Now i am 31 weeks and he is measuring 32 weeks. They do have growth spurts and then it slows down and they catch up so i wouldnt be concerned. Congrats!!

You should have asked your doc at the ultrasound! You are 17 weeks if that's what they say. That's why they do the ultrasound-to determine how far along you really are and give you a more accurate due date.

If it is your first kid it might come later than the due date anyway. So don't sweat it. As long as the doctor gives you a positive report. Also, ask Jesus to come into your heart and help you with your baby.

do you know they add 2 weeks on?
so your baby may have been conceived 15 weeks ago, but they start counting pregnancy the first day of your last period.
so your 17 weeks pregnant, but your baby is only 15 weeks old.
