This has already come up (see first ref. below). According to propeller.com, he might be Buddhist (second ref). It's probably safe to say that, whatever his religion [if any], he subscribes to one of the more liberal interpretations.

Catholics, BTW, are Christians. In fact, they had a near monopoly* on Christianity until 1517, when Martin Luther (ref. 3) nailed his 95 theses, or disagreements with the Catholic church, to a church door in Wittenberg. Although he saw himself as a Catholic reformer, and did not intend to create a schism within the church, it was predictable that the 16th century Catholic authorities were not going to back down, and the Protestant movement began.

At about the same time, in England, Henry VIII was looking for a divource. Since the Pope wouldn't approve it, he took advantage of the newly deregulated religious industry and went to Martin Luther with the request. Luther also denied him, so Henry decided to follow in Luther's footsteps and just start his own church. Not surprisingly, the newly-formed Episcopal church (which was now by default the official Church of England) was more sympathetic to Henry's circumstances and granted his request.

This began the Protestant free-for-all, where anyone with a minor disagreement on doctrine or any kind of vaguely Christ-based theology could start their own sect. Recently, a few historically unprecedented acts of unity (such as accepting the authority of a priest/minister of an allied sect to perform rites in emergencies) have been achieved, but in general we're still divided by such burning theological issues as the doctrine of transubstantiation.

FWIW, the Eastern religions don't really have the same concept of exclusivity as the Western. We pick one religion and stick with it...or we "convert," exchanging one religion for another. Easterners see no conflict with being Buddhist, Taoist, Confucian, and Shinto at the same time. In fact, a perennial issue Christian missionaries have in the East is that they think they've converted the locals, whereas the locals have simply added Christianity to their repertoire.

* In the early centuries A.D., the Catholic church, still in its formative stages in Rome, had some competition from the Gnostic (Coptic) church prevalent in Northern Africa, particularly modern-day Egypt and Ethiopia. Although the Coptic faith never achieved the popularity of Catholicism, it has survived to the present day with a relatively small number of followers. The early Gnostics have provided us with such historically and theologically intriguing documents as the gospels of Mary, Thomas, and Judas.

First of all Catholics are Christian. Second of all I don't think Eminem is Christian or anything close to it based on his less than Christian like ways.
