Who are we (mostly people who don't even know the family) to judge on who's fault it is? Why should we put blame on a parent for her daughters mistakes that they make on their own? Its not the mother's doing of their mistakes. Everyone makes them, they're just not in the public eye. I wouldn't judge.

It's not the mother's fault. 16-year-olds have plenty of time and inclination to do things their mothers would not approve of whether it's stealing a car, having sex or skipping school. Lots of times they get away with it, then other times, like in this case, they get caught. Unfortunate but not the end of the world for Jamie Lynn or any other 16 year old.

While other people and things in our lives do influence us, we each are ultimately responsible for the choices we make. And since Jamie wasn't sheltered and knew enough beforehand to make an intelligent decision then she has absolutely no good excuse for having gotten pregnant.
And Jamie sold her story to OK magazine, with the stipulation that they get exclusive rights to the first pics of the infant when it is born. That other poster is wrong.

I think she should get much of the blame. It was obvious that she was so obsessed with making Britney a major star that other things parents should be doing for their children became a low priority for her. For example, Britney doesn't appear to be particularly intelligent or educated in her interviews. I've read that while she was growing up, her mother was constantly taking her out of school to go to auditions. It doesn't appear that Britney ever finished school.

It is the responsibility of parents to raise up a child in the way he or she should go. At some point however, a child that has been socialized into the culture learns right from wrong. Therefore they share blame but the individual by far is responsible for their own behavior. YOU MIGHT SAY ANYONE EVER HAVING HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO INFLUENCE THESE GIRLS OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER HAS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO TEACH RIGHT BEHAVIOR; IF ONLY BY OUR OWN ACTIONS.

Britney is an adult and can make her own choices - jaime lynn is nearly an adult and is capable of making wiser choices. Having a child is not the end of the world - its whom you choose to have a child with and your own actions that make a situation what it is.
