Maybe you should take a 20th century history class.
Woodrow Wilson won the election of 1916 by promising the electorate we would not get involved in World War I. The first year of his second term (1917). . . what happened???
Who was the President on December 7, 1941, a day that will live in infamy? What was his party affiliation? Was that not Roosevelt? Could it be?
Who was the first President to send troops to Vietnam and get us into Korea? Was that not Truman? Surely not, since Republicans get us into wars, right?
Who was the President that officially kicked off the Vietnam War? Was that not Lyndon Baines Johnson? What party was he from?
Who was the President that pulled us out of Vietnam? Was that not Nixon? Was he not a Republican? No, he must have been a Democrat because he got us out. . . right?
Who put us into the Balkans to defend Muslims against those hateful Christians? Was that not Clinton who sent troops to Haiti as well and many other places besides? What party did Clinton belong to? Republican, right, since Republicans start all wars? Who was President when we conducted air strikes on Iraq during the late nineties? Was that not also Clinton?
Is U.S. History and Current Events not studied anymore in school?

Republican US Presidents are the main diplomatic persons in the background of the united states - those persons have on no account initiated wars nor wanted to proceed ending up international conflicts. Please exclude from the record George Bush Sr and Jr and Nixon as anomalies Oh and Mitt Romney - US Presidential candidate has no purpose by any ability to start conflict with Iran... /end sarcasm

Since your question is so simplistic black and white, I'll answer in like manner.
Because the Republicans realize there is evil in the world and that sometimes terrible measures are required to prevent evil from taking control of everything we hold dear and precious. No one likes war. It's awful, but it is sometimes necessary. Thank God we have men and women willing to fight that battle so you don't have to.
The Democrats seem to think that if we just leave everybody alone the world will live in peace and harmony and the bad guys will all go away. They are willing to risk your life on that theory. Are you?

Right, the U.S. entered World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War while Republicans were in the White House.
Right.

Well, as current news stands, the Democrats are doing, well, nothing along the lines of 'changing the focus of our mission' in Iraq. They can't move anything in Congress, and are merely keeping the status quo.
So are they getting us out? No. They're supporting the Republicans keeping us in.

check you facts. several democrats voted to use military force in iraq, including hillary. plus, the dems have been in office for a year and are no closer to the 'immediate redeployment of troops' that carried their campaigns.

I wasn't aware that we were officially at war. We don't seem to declare them anymore (as is required of Congress, which would put us in a temporary state of emergency - rather than our chronic state of lunacy).
I'm not sure we should be going to war when it's become quite clear we no longer have the desire to win; even though we easily could - against any country.
