A saint. Unfortunately, she saw that I was a sinner or at least "off" and decided on a treat a bit more normalicious :)
As with most first time crush triangles, however, he wanted to be her buddy just as much as she wanted to be mine.
Thinking back, her interest as far as a friend goes may have been purely informaitonal since I was friends with her crush.

Her name was Mary. She was the rich girl in town. She liked me but I wasn't popular. While she never held that against me it was always there hanging over her head. We ended up dating a couple of times and I was so thankful to be with her I did like she said and kept it between us. Yes, I was an idiot for doing that. She ended up getting pregnant several times in high school and her reputation went south. I told her how I felt and she threw it back in my face in the end. I'm glad it didn't work out. She's in her late 30's now and still acts just like she did in high school. Boy did I dodge a bullet!

She was a saint. Unfortunately now she's an angel. I have many fond memories of her. She died in 1991 just before her 22nd birthday.
