Yes it was recently done by a leader in Pakistan that Bush supports. Do you really think it can't happen here also?

I don't think that we are in a state of emergency and I don't think that congress would think so either. I believe that Bush will thankfully give up the keys to the White House.

Already been declared.

Looking up the actual presidential directive to show what authority he has under the national emergency...

Edit:

Found it...

What isn't specific is does that presidential directive work with the national emergency declared in 2001. I don't think it really matters.

"No, because the president can not do that. What is wrong with you fruitcakes? You are totally irrational in your endless hatred and searching for tidbits of nonsense to muddy the waters and mislead your fellow Americans. It is a pity that more ignorant schmucks will read your post and take it as gospel. STOP THE INSANITY. Just once, try dealing with the problem at hand instead of creating yet another to further divide an already divided nation. If you are not a part of the solution, you are part of the problem. In your case I believe it is obvious."

Well, the directive was passed and is in effect, its even on the white house website. I'm not the one that supports the War on Terrorism, its the idiots that don't know about the directive which are the ones who support it. The War on Terrorism is meant to divide the country and squash dissent. Why? Because of the economic merge between the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. The spp aka nau. The only thing that would prevent it is American nationalism, which nationalism is being rewritten.

no longer legally, yet interior some hours of 1000's of people being killed purely after beginning their working day morning; he can get on the t.v. and tell persons to pass approximately their extensive-unfold day---get to artwork, keep the financial device flowing, and so on. whilst nullifying the fact that 1000's of sufferers did purely that some hours previous. The message grow to be ridiculous; consistent with possibility he grow to be somewhat a great deal taken aback with the attrocities of that day. Writing and speech over the final two decades has long previous down the tubes. whilst I disagree with alot that has occurred politically considering that 9-11, my honest ideas are with the households who've lost substantial different and young toddlers, my respects.

Yes, I think it can't happen here. Our country is run by the Constitution, not by George Bush's whim. There is no state of emergency here, and he'd have to get it by Congress. It would NEVER happen. He could be impeached for it.

Yes, he can do that. In the United States there is dwindling democracy and the Constitution is becoming nothing more than a piece of paper. If it happens there will be another revolution.

Well, he could try. . . But without the congress behind him, he won't get far. He has no absolute power, and the writers of the constitution made sure it was that way. And how far behind him could a Democratic congress be????

Yes.
This president could use his executive office powers to postpone the elections if a terrorist act or other act of war happens next summer or fall.

There is no reason for that to happen here in the US.
