I would like to know how it is to work at a movie theater. My friend said all his friends hate it because they don't have a lot of free time on the weekends.

My local theater is hiring. I work at Taco Bell and I'm looking for a new place to go.

So I was wondering if anyone could tell me how working at a theater is like?

It has to be better than fast food, right?

My brother loved it for a long time, it was pretty much the easiest job ever except for cleaning the bathrooms.

Try to get on the projector, that one is super easy.

I worked at a movie theater off and on for 3 years and I loved it. Towards the end, I felt too old to be doing it since i was 24 and had a bachelor's degree, but it's got a lot of diversity in terms of what you do. You could be preparing food at the concession stand, or ushering, or working a register or projecting, so you get bored much less frequency.

The benefits are also good and I hope you like movies, because it's a great way to cultivate an interest in them.

A couple tips though:
A small family-run movie theater is better than a chain and has less rules.

While i'm sure the pay is better than Taco Bell, there probably are a few places out there that pay a little better.

As for the weekends, you're generally busy on weekends, but everyone in town goes to the movie theater at some point or another, so you'll usually see your friends there, anyway.

You are an ageist. People who are older that work are working to pay their bills and eat. Why do you think just because you are young you get to dictate or criticize others about their age and working. Plenty of Seniors do not have enough money, so they work, and they are darn good workers too. It is the young people that think that they know everything and actually do not do as good a job as someone more experienced. Seniors do not take off for Ski weekends, or being out late friday night drinking. They come to work no matter what. You best mend your ways and hope you reach the age they are. You need a good spanking, and I bet you would enjoy that too if the women was your age, what was it ? oh yes if she was 15 like you. :) LOL Kidding

I would sure think that it is better than fast food! I say, go for it. Check out some of the benefits. Maybe you can get into movies free which I think would be better than..free food from Taco Bell!

It's better than fast food, unless you're stuck working the concession stand on a Friday or Saturday night. Also, the employees tend to get treated like crap. But it's no worse than most other minimum wage jobs.
