I'll tell you the truth: when I hear about a couple getting a divorce, I secretly wonder what the man did to cause it.
But my super ego knows that there are 2 people in a marriage and 2 sides to every story.

I cannot speak for the masses. But I will point out that once a person is accused of ANY form of wrong-doing, there will always be those who have an opinion about it. Michael Le Vell may be innocent and, for arguments sake, lets assume that he IS innocent and all charges are dismissed, there will always be someone who thinks he is guilty. There will always be people who think of this moment when they think of him. For that reason alone, he is permanently tainted. He may have done many wonderful things throughout his life and career, but he will now be most remembered for one single moment, this one. Guilty or innocent his life is now defined by these criminal charges. The good he has or will accomplish will forever be marred by this incident. When someone recalls his television performances they will describe him as the following: "Do you remember that guy who played Kevin Webster on Coronation Street? That ummm.... Michael Le Vell, the guy who was accused of sexual assault? Hmm, I wonder whatever happened to him.

EVERYONE is either guilty or not BEFORE proven anything. Legally, Everyone is PRESUMED innocent until proven guilty. Practically, some people will presume guilt and others presume innocence in the same case. Without some details the best answer is ALL OF THE ABOVE.

I think guilty until proven innocent, unfortunately.
Most of us tend to believe the worst in the opposite sex until proven otherwise.

For me, when it comes to relationships w/ the opposite sex, *guilty until proven innocent* is how I feel. I've always thought that trust is earned, not given freely.

That depends on the individual. If they have a record of not keeping their word, guilty until proven innocent. If they have a trustworthy record, innocent until proven guilty.

The Canadian Legal System states that people are innocent until proven guilty, and this is regardless of gender. This is how I treat people as well.

There's going to be some die hard sexists that assume guilt as a matter of priority. Some of life's lessons must have been particularly cruel to them.
On the whole though, I think people are genuinely trusting, in fact prefer to trust than to suspect. It lowers your stress. Better to suffer a dissapointment every now and again than to live it continuously.

Well, legally their innocent until proven guilty, but as far as guys go and relationships go, their guilty until proven innocent.
I don't like to judge, but so many guys are assholes and I've been screwed over so many times that's just become my way of thinking.

Could be either depending on the specific circumstances. The human heart doesn't exactly function according to due process of the law, does it?
Because of my personal history, I find it difficult to approach relationships with women with complete trust. I try to assume trustworthiness unless or until I'm shown that my trust has been misplaced. Sometimes I'm successful at that, sometimes not.
