Let people be people. If it only hurts your idea of religion, than don't do it. Equality for all, right? All men created equal. That is our country's defining right. Why squash it?

Gay represents same sex, not just man to man relationships.

I dont have a problem of so called gay marriage, but I somewhat respect the opinions of those that are against it because of their religious beliefs. Somewhat, because everyone has their own opinion although I believe that no one should be able to tell someone else what they can or cannot do when it does not endanger them or anyone else. If "God" didnt want two men to fall in love, and have sex, then perhaps "God" shouldnt have messed with their hormonal balances, etc. If kids are not expected to pledge to the flag because it includes the name of "God", then how can we expect to enforce a law against same sex marriage?

I do draw the line of same sex partners adopting children, as the relationship the children grow up in may cause them to question their own sexuality. If they turn out to be gay or bi, let them decide that on their own "normal" terms and not have the influence of their two fathers, or two mothers.

For me, I dont ever see myself getting into the gay marriage scene (I'm bi for the fun filled sex, and not really into gay romance/love) although I do see why some would, especially if you find a same sex partner that totally fulfills your wants and needs.

I don't even see why there needs to be a law making it acceptable. Where is it in the Constitution or anywhere else that says it's automatically wrong? The government needs to mind it's own business, and this includes gay or not gay marriage.

I used to think that whoever gets married up, deserves what they get (gay or straight). Levity aside, gay people pair up and even go through union ceremonies and have for as long as humans have been around with the concept of marriage. You love who you love. I don't think gay people can single-handedly change any religious tenants, but what I do think is that hard-working, society enriching gay people who want to marry deserve the same tax breaks and societal perks that all married couples receive.
My ex was once in a horrible car accident and was placed in intensive care. I was not allowed to visit the man I love because I was not legally married nor immediately related. It drove me out of my mind. I was considered nothing more than a glorified room-mate. Is that justice? It is a travesty in anyone's Bible.
A girl I used to work with, a lesbian, died. Her family in Oklahoma rejected her for it and never met her lover of 22 years. When she died, not only could they claim all her property, they buried her in a pink frilly dress she would have NEVER worn in life.
Organized religions do not have to accept gay mariiage if they so choose, but I think gay people deserve better from their governments.

Our country was created because of the idea that we ALL are equal. So every American should have the right to marry whom he/she pleases.

A family is a good thing for any society. We should be encouraging people to marry and form families, regardless of whether they are straight, gay or any other label.

"... Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness."

^ What this country was built on.
Gay Marriage is a couple's pursuit for happiness. Yet, people deny it. Thus, you are denying two people's right to happiness.

It doesn't affect me. I live in Europe where gay marriage and civil unions are a reality.

I think if youre in love with somebody and you want to get married, for chrissake let them get married! It doesnt matter what gender you are love is love. Theres too much bad in the world to try to thwart true love between two people. Let them be happy!

I am totally for it. Black people marry white people, Jews marry Christians, insane people marry sane people, dudes marry chicks. Why shoulden't gay people marry gay people?
