Oh yes! I worked for a book publisher in the late 80's, and we had an extensive "original" library. Amazing. Also, original artwork for children's books. It is truly awe-inspiring to be in the presence of great works!

I'd been in the printing industry for many years and never had occasion to use the traditional form of vellum made from calfskin or kidskin but there are many other forms of vellum out there today that resemble parchment and are in use daily in the legal profession. Schools and Colleges use this type of paper for the printing of diplomas and documents. You can buy the modern day version of vellum at just about any office supply store to use with your home printer.

No. I use vellum in crafting. I can't imagine a manuscript written on it.
