There's this guy in my science class who's totally obsessed with Hitler, and Nazism. I could totally kick the kids *** for being an idiot, but what would that solve? I need something to say to the little fascist, something to make him realize he's so wrong.

Yeah, he's "half German", so he thinks he's a Nazi. The sad part is that he's ALSO half black, and yet he completely ignores his other culture.

He WAS a friend of mine, until his little Hitler craze got out of hand.
Why is he supportive of a hate-group?

It's obvious that you want the guy to understand your view, not force it down his throat. Reading and watching material take time and effort that someone who is disinclined will not want to do. If you are anywhere near Los Angeles or Washington D.C., you can hang out with the guy and take him to the Museum of Tolerance or The United States Holocaust Memorial, it will allow him to see you as a friend and it'll be easier for him to digest what you have to say. The other benefit is that the place you both will be visiting will allow him to understand, in a non-threatening way, the negative impact that Hitler and the Nazis have had on people and the world.

If you need to do something immediately, then listen to him to understand the reason why he thinks highly of Hitler and the Nazis. It could be the he is misinformed or associates with the wrong type of people. If he is misinformed, then you might be able to remind him that Hitler was directly responsible for the death of about 6 million Eurpoean Jews as a deliberate plan of extermination. Check out Wikipedia's website, as it has some other immediate info you can share.
If he is hanging out with the wrong crowd, then it'll be tough, because then he'll be influenced by the group's belief system.

BUT, it seems that you want to make a difference; so, I recommend that you befriend him first and find similarities that way he will be open to what you have to say. Good luck, and you should be proud of yourself for taking the higher road.

He has an obsession and you're making him your obsession. The more you get rattled by him, the less chance you'll have of finding something "suitable" to put him down with.

And when you verbally abuse him, then what? You'll feel better about yourself? Will it make a difference to his beliefs? Doubtful. This is a free country and he has as much right to believe in Hitler as you do to denounce him.

Best suggestion, keep to your own friends and get on with your own life.

Having lived a number of years in Germany I found the best way to handle that type of person is to ignore them just as the German people do.One day they may change or not.

On one hand I would say that being obsessed with Hitler isn't so great, but on the other hand I would say...at least he's interested in something. He'll probably outgrow it if people leave him alone and let this interest run its course.

well, prove to him how hitler was wrong!! he lost the war didn't he???
also does this guy have brown hair??? cause hitlers "perfect" person was: straight, not a jew, not a gypsy, blonde hair (not dark blonde), blue eyes.
casue maybe you could use some of that against him?

You might start by reminding him what happened to the 'master race' and its Fuhrer. Whatever the little wanker may have predicted, the Goddess of History did *NOT* acquit him.

(Advanced approach: You could point out that the *only* place that "Main Kampf" is still in print is in the radical Muslim world.)
