You need to petition the courts for a remodification to spousal support and then present to the Judge any and allevidence you have so the Judge will have reason to remodify the support.Everything here begins with the courts. It may even spell it out for you in your divorce decree too. Good luck

I would think if she gets remarried, the alimony should stop. It is that way in California but differs state to state. Go back to where you originally filed the divorce papers. Look on that county's court website. There should be a court facilitator as well . Make an appointment with them and they should be able to help with obtaining the correct paperwork. They'll even go through it to make sure you filled in everything you need to. They just can't give you any advise.

Study your divorce settlement it could have a remarriage clause. In some cases if the ex remarries the alimony ends. Get an attorney. They can garnish wages across state lines these days.

Alimony stops the day the spouse remarries. Yes, you can stop paying alimony, just get a copy of her marriage certificate and send it to the court.

read your divorce decree, this is something that should have been discussed at the time of the divorce, if it says no alimony after she remarries, file proof of her marriage with the court, and request to stop paying.

firstly.....if she is looking after her grandfather and not working then you shouldn't have to pay for day care. however this may be a temporary situation and she will be back to work shortly. you need to find out if this is permenant that she's not working or if the grandfather has cancer or somethintg like that. secondly ...just because she has remarried does not make your children his responsability. i understand that you are skint but you find to find out what is really happening with her work. if she is not telling you the truth then you need to know this and sort it out. if you cannot afford a lawyer then you should be able to apply for some help from the state to assist or pay your legal costs.
go to your local citizens advice place and they will help you further.
hope this helps

im not sure i would check with whoever it is that ordered the alimony, i believed that once they remarry you dont have to pay, but the only way to be sure is to ask or look at the paperwork given to you

My husband pays his ex alimony and if she were to get married, his payments would end. I would google your question and do the research.

Most of the time it stops with remarriage, but I don't know which state you should file in, probably the one that gave the order.
