Wow, you wrote all of that in one big sentence. If I knew where you were, I'd arrest you for that.

Seems to me like there's part of your rambling and incoherent story that's missing. Obviously, you were messing up in some way for the police to be at your front door in the first place. But if they have probable cause to come to your home, the chances are very good that they also have probable cause to arrest you, and that includes dragging you out of your house and doing whatever else is necessary to detain you.

I said.... he said..... Guess who wins if one side is a cop.

The cops can legally arrest you, even in your own home, with no warrant and no permission to enter, under what are called "exigent circumstances".

In your case that would mean that they claim they had a legitimate and articulable reason to believe that you were committing, or were about to commit, a crime.

The cop might say "From what I saw when he opened the door it appeared to me that he and his girlfriend were fighting, and from his appearance and demeanor I feared for her safety if I were to allow him to close the door and go back in"

If the judge believes that the officers fear for your girlfriends safety was legitimate, then arresting you would be legal.

Generally a cop won't use force unless its been deemed totally necessary, because they know everyone has a video camera and they are very culpable for what they do. Sounds like either the neighbors complained that you were really going at her and thought you were threatening her, or they heard you really going at her as they walked up to the door and you were so enraged that when you opened it you went at them and don't realize it. (Rage can be blinding).
