I'm having a horrible day. Today was my last day of school. And I got out for winter break. I did horrible on a final test for history. Then, I got a traffic ticket and I'm only 16. And the worst is that my dad is taking my Christmas presents away to pay for my ticket. I don't need a lecture on what I did wrong, I know what I did wrong. Can anyone help cheer me up?

Believe it or not, this is small potatoes. In the grand scheme of things, this is just a bump in the road.

A ticket is a ticket and everyone gets them. I know your dad is just trying to make you drive safely, I don't think he will actually take all your presents back. Why not ask him if you can work off the money. Tell him how sorry you are and how you know it was stupid. Maybe he will listen.

Things could always be worse. Try to keep a pleasant attitude and just try to get in to the excitement of the season.

Step 1- Think positive towards your education. Don't think you did horrible, think that you did great.

Step 2- The traffic ticket isn't a good sign. Be a sport, pay it happily, and vow never to do anything bad again!

Step 3- Tell your dad I'm sorry and promise him I'll never do anything bad again (rephrase your words though)

That's a helpful solution! If that doesn't work, here's a joke:

What happens to a 3-year-old ladybug after 4 years? (it become 7 years old)

I sure can.

You are only 16 and it may all seem like the end of the world but it really isn't. You have so much good stuff ahead of you. Don't dwell on the bad only the good.

Plus you are out for winter break!!! Vacation. Yeah!!!!

Your dad will give you your presents back.

God still loves you. He forgives you. You are a very loved person. Jesus loves you so much. You don't need stupid presents when you have family, friends, and the love of the Lord. Pray to your heavenly Father, and he can give you the best gift of all: true happiness.

Awe. That's awful. I'm so sorry. If they have it in your state. Go to Comedy Traffic School. That should cheer you up. They offer that here in California.
