PROBLEM 1:

You have -4y and 4y, so you can add these equations. That will eliminate the y terms:

3x - 4y = 7
2x + 4y = 8
---------------
5x ...... = 15
x = 15/5
x = 3

Now plug in x = 3 for one of the equations to solve for y:
3(3) - 4y = 7
9 - 4y = 7
-4y = -2
y = -2/-4
y = 1/2

(3, 0.5)

PROBLEM 2:

You have 5m and 5m, so subtract to eliminate the m terms. But I would reverse the order so you don't have negative numbers (it will still work the other way, but it is just easier):

5m+ 6n=34
5m + 3n=22
-----------------
........ 3n = 12
n = 12/3
n = 4

Now plug in n = 4 and solve for m:
5m + 3(4) = 22
5m + 12 = 22
5m = 10
m = 2

1. 3x-4y=7---------->1
2x+4y=8------------>2

so now u must eliminate 4y as they're easier
so,1+2
3x-4y+(2x+4y)=7+8
5x=15
x=3

so now substitute x=3
2(3)+4y=8
4y=2
y=0.5
(3,0.5)

2. 5m+3n=22
5m+6n=34

so eliminate 5m
5m+3n-(5m+6n)=22-34
-3n=-12
n=4

then substitute n=4
5m+3(4)=22
5m=10
m=2
