Lakota Indians Withdraw Treaties Signed With U.S. 150 Years Ago.... Thats the headline... I guess this tribe of indians are renouncing their us citizenship and issuing their own passports. Should we close the tribe off and force them to apply for a visa before they leave their reservation? Should we impose tariffs like we do other countries? I say yes. They want to be a sovereign nation, let em. Perhaps we can tax them into starvation.

So what if the Native Americans sue... Who will they get to enforce any lawsuit?

You know what, they were the dumb ones who when they saw us coming with guns they shot arrow's. Spoils of war, they are lucky we have let them have their little reservations. Withdraw all of them. If they do not like it... LEAVE

Apparantly no one has lived near a reservation... The Indians break laws then run back to their little nation. They can leave whenever they please to go to walmart and supersaver but we need special permission to enter their land. Screw that.

every sovergn nation has a right to police or even close it's borders.an unchecked flow of immigrants historically causes incredible problems to the host nation. illegal immgrants have cost an ncredible amount of money in this country, realized in many ways including health care and undue stresses on infrastructure. ironically, mexico polices IT'S southern border with mexican army regulars to ensure that no south american illegals gain enrty to thier country. our nation needs to seal its southern border with mexico and do more to get good legal immgrants in here quicker.also, people who break the most simple of laws upon entry to our nation shouldnt be given the benifit of our hard work and labors. how can you claim to come in peace and with goodintensions when your first act upon our soil is to violate our sovergn laws?

If the US plays hardball than Native American tribes will line up to go to court to sue the U.S. government for the government's many, many, many treaty violations over the years. Probably not a good idea.

What do you mean 'also'? We aren't even closing our own borders. As far as the Lakota Indians, I doubt it's a major concern.

No, why start with their borders.
Worry about your own unguarded borders first.

Your wish to tax them into starvation, says much for your character. At least you do not profess to be a Christian.

This sounds like nothing, but it could be big. Thanks to casino gambling the tribes have money to fight the government in court and people like Russel Means to stir it on the ground.

I can't see how they could be given the entire Black Hills back, but I would like to see them win one.
